Here is a recently finished work that was inspired by a quote I saw in an acquaintances home. After I saw the quote I could not get it out of my head, it is mostly credited to Annette Funicelli. I decided to make it into a work since I am trying to always have a small text work on a hoop. I felt that the sentiment juxtaposed well with the pink thread and ladylike prairie woman. The words "It doesn't have to be perfect to be wonderful" are a good reminder of how wonderful our imperfect highly complicated wounded selves are and how even though we get attached to our suffering it only takes one's perspective to shift for the whole world to change before your eyes. A good reminder for me as I struggle with my studio practice and schedule.
