Embroidery Workshop!

2 hour Intro to Embroidery workshop
at the studio of artist Joetta Maue.
Sunday, December 13, 1:30-3:30pm.
Red Hook, Brooklyn, NY

Just in time for the holidays you can learn quick and easy embroidery techniques to create one of a kind holiday gifts or just add embelishments to clothing, scarves, towels, bags, and more.
In this workshop you will begin your very own original custom sampler. Each student will design their own sampler with a water-soluble marker, using their own unique handwriting or provided stencils. .
Learning the most basic skills of preparing the fabric, using the hoop, and threading the needle to finishing the project for final display. 6 traditional embroidery stitches will be taught: the split stitch, stem stitch, backstitch, satin stitch, chain stitch, and the ever-mysterious French knot. With the skills learned each student would be able to continue making beautiful pieces of art or simply embellish items of your own. So bring your creativity and lets get stitching!

$20- bring your own supplies. $30 supplies included.
Additional supplies will be available for purchase. For questions or to sign up please contact connectivethread@gmail.com.

I'm sorry I can't make the opening on Sat. --- it's the day of our xmas tour. I hope you do well, and your embroidery workshop is a great idea. There is such a wealth of embroidery history done by talented women. It's good to see you continuing a tradition with a new twist. GOOD LUCK -- hope to see you over the holidays -- stop by to see my trees and stay overnight enroute to NC... Craig
