bittersweet.
I am so delighted to share that this piece, gaze, has been sold. It is always such a wonderful validation as an artist to have a collector decide to bring your work into their home or work place. And I am beyond flattered because this particular piece was sold to Etsy itself to be hung in their Brooklyn offices. So to me this is a great opportunity for the work to continuously be seen and knowing that they have such a huge selection of wonderful work to choose from I have a wonderful sense of pride.
However as joyful as I am to be selling such a special piece I am also sad. For obvious reasons this work has sentimental emotions attached to it and for that my heart breaks a little to see it go. To make matters more difficult I have yet to finish a new work since this work was finished. I have 3 well on their way and 1 other started but due to varying circumstances nothing has been finished... and for me the most recently finished piece always had a little special place in my heart. So...
I need to get my ass in gear a finish a piece.
I need to take my camera to the studio and take tons of pictures of gaze so that I can remember it well.
and then lovingly package it to be sent to its new home. Where I hope it will be loved.

Congratulations! I know how hard it can be let to go of a piece that you've put so much of yourself into, but what an honor to have it displayed in the Etsy offices! Amazing!
Thank you. Packing it up was hard for sure but once it was all ready to go I felt great and am so honored they chose it from all the wonderful things at their fingertips.
