What has been happening in my studio you ask? Not enough that is for sure. But yesterday I spent a nice chunk of time in there working on this piece.
It is nice to finally see it out of the hoop. For the last week or so I have been working on the hair of this guy, my daddio. It was kind of fun and challenging to get the right color variation of very gray, almost white hair.
The red pillow is next, just pinned right now, and I love how it frames my mothers face.
This is a mock up of the sheeting for the bodies but I am still figuring out what fabric to use and how to shape it. So that is coming.
Now that the "embroidery" part of this is done I need to get another one started. Only thing is my printer is not working for some mysterious reason... So I need to get some images printed asap so that I can get to work. I think you all will like what is next.

I would love to see more of your process- from the original photograph to the work in progress and on to the finished piece.I'm a huge fan of your work!
what a great idea. if you look over the blog I am sure you can piece that together but it would make for a nice cohesive post too.
I will have to track my next piece for that.
