piles and blankets

So I am sick and feeling more inclined to crawl under a big giant blanket than anything else.
Therefore, the work of artist Shelia Hicks is perfect for today as her work is generally great piles (I could sleep on them)

or great panels (I could use them as a blanket)

Made with gorgeous and inviting colors and materials.

A warmth emanates from her work in an overwhelmingly welcoming way.
I also enjoy the mix of weaving, wrapping, building, and interactiveness.

Her aesthetic reminds me a little bit of the seventies but that just reminds me of my childhood and I love the work all the more.

See more at her website.
